It's Not Just Pedagogy

Brief Bio Research Faculty_Vocab Classes Duties

Departmental Tasks, Committees, Etc.

Rikkyo University helps keep its faculty engaged through participation in various committees and departmental duties.

The following are some of those with which I have some current connection.

Rikkyo English Language Program Webmaster

Rikkyo University's English Language Program has its own password-protected website, TeachNet, open to Rikkyo

teachers and students. My job is maintaining the teachers' site's webpages and content, including its RSS feed. Content

for the teachers' pages can be submitted to me, after which I will forward it to the appropriate course committee to

decide whether the submission can be entered into the teachers' database.

ECU Coordinator

The English for Cultural Understanding course has been my main responsibility since 2007. It is a two-term course that

meets twice a week and involves all four skills. The spring term focuses on communicative skills and presentations,

whereas the autumn term emphasizes writing and reports. In addition to handling issues involving students or teachers, I

write materials and work to ensure the ECU course goes smoothly.

CS Course Syllabus Assistant

Beginning April 2008, I belong to the Faculty of Intercultural Communication (異文化コミューニケーション学部).

Among its many attractions for students are small six-person English classes (CS classes), for which I am assisting in the

writing and revision of their course syllabi.
